Essie - Armed and Ready

I figure since it is technically winter here in Australia, I should attempt to wear at least a couple of darker colours to befit the season. Whilst I was delighted with Bobbing for Baubles, Armed and Ready was disappointing. I wanted the gold to be much more visible on the nail, and the colour isn't my favourite so I won't be reaching for this one very often. The formula was fine though, with opaque coverage in 2 coats. Don't mind the pinky, I was mortified once these photos were taken so I kept a bandaid securely over it whilst as work! ;)

Essie - Bobbing for Baubles

I was so excited for the whole Cocktail Bling collection, yet when I finally purchased the collection, all I could do was stare (and not wear). Anyway, I'm over that weird phase and I was super happy with this colour. Dark, but not black even in the shade, this is now my go-to navy. 2 coats, no top coat.

China Glaze - Sweet Hook

Whilst this colour seems to show up every ridge in my nails, I actually really enjoyed wearing this colour. 2 coats, no top coat.

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps

Perhaps the most well known China Glaze polish, today I'm wearing Ruby Pumps. From what I can gather, it's a sheer red jelly with a ton of red glitter, and I love it. This was 2 coats with 1 coat of Essie's Good to Go topcoat.

Essie - Angora Cardi

This hyped up polish has been on my wish list for over a year, and I'm glad I finally got my hands on it. It's a lovely autumn/winter/cold weather shade that applied evenly in 2 coats. All taken in direct sunlight.

Essie - Mochachino

Today I got my last shipment of nail polish (that I was waiting on) and reached 500 nail polishes :D Not that I think anyone needs this much polish, but it makes me so happy when I see a draw full of colour that I don't mind if you're judging me right now ;) Anyway, this is Mochachino, a lovely brown packed full of silver shimmer. 2 coats and all photos taken in direct sunlight.

China Glaze - Electric Beat

I bought such an obscene amount of nail polish in May that I've been a little overwhelmed,  hence the lack of posts this week. I discovered head2toebeauty.com and I went a little crazy. I won't tell you how much I ended up buying because I'm a tad embarrassed!, so lets just leave it as "a lot" haha.

Anyway, here begins my first foray into China Glaze nail polish. China Glaze isn't sold anywhere in my state, and it is extremely difficult to find in Australia as a whole. The first colour I decided to try out was Electric Beat from the Electropop collection. This was one coat! The formula was fantastic, I actually really like the colour considering its a blue, and it dried pretty quickly. PS - don't mind the bumpiness, I botched up my base coat and was too lazy to redo it >_<

Sally Hansen - Whisper

The last of the Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect range, and I wish I'd left this on the shelf. It's the only one that I was disappointed in, as it went crinkly and weird, and it dried super slowly. This is either 2 or 3 coats, I can't quite remember.

Sally Hansen - Linen

After the Peachstock fiasco, I decided to play it safe for the rest of the day. This is a very white pink, and it's lovely. It's far whiter than any Essie light pink that I own, and it painted on smoothly in 3 coats. It's just one of those really delicate colours that I love, and I absolutely love this line from Sally Hansen.

MAC - Peachstock

I purchased this colour because I remembered seeing this on Temptalia and thinking it looked alright, and a colour I didn't have anything similar to. Now I know why. This looked so hideous that as soon as I snapped some photos of it, I took it off and it will now reside in the back of my polish draw. It's a peachy/beige and in my opinion, I think only dark skinned ladies will be able to pull this colour off.

MAC - Saint Germain

This is a very basic pink, and most brands will have a very similar colour in their collection. However, I don't mind. These kinds of pink colours, for me at least, are just so nice to look at. They're bright without being fuchsia. They are creamy without being too milky. I could go on, but instead I'm just going to stare at my nails some more ;)

2 coats, no top coat.

Sally Hansen - Sea

Whilst this colour is pretty, it took a lot more effort than the other colours from this range that I've worn so far. It took 4 coats, and the first 3 of them were so difficult that I didn't know if I'd ever get it smooth! But patience prevailed and here is Sea, a whitened mint green with no top coat.

Sally Hansen - Satin

I was lucky enough to get invited to a fashion launch, so I decided on some simple nails to wear today. Satin is a soft pink and is almost opaque in 2 coats. 3 coats would be opaque, but I really like seeing the tips of my nails gently peeking through with this colour :)

MAC - Angel

Angel is one of the most talked about MAC products on the market, so I took the plunge and ordered both the nail polish and the lipstick online. Whilst the lipstick is only borderline wearable for me, I really enjoyed this muted, neutral pink (the lipstick is much lighter). For a polish that costs more than salon brands such as OPI and Essie at AU$22 a bottle, I really wish I wouldn't keep falling into the MAC trap, no matter how nice (though surely dupable) the colours are.

This is 3 coats, no top coat. All photos taken in direct sunlight.
