Rimmel - Hypnotise

I generally apply my nail polish at night, and polishes always look more opaque in the dark! This was 2 coats, but clearly it needed at least 3. I bought this a very long time ago, back when this was circling the big blogs about 2 or more years ago, so I'm glad I'm finally getting around to wearing it!

Ulta3 - Beesting

A frosted deep burgundy pink, this colour applied opaquely in 1 coat but I applied 2 to minimise the streakiness often found in frosts and metallics.

OPI - Pink-ing of You

This is one of those pinks that looks like it'd be super dupe-able, but I couldn't find anything this exact shade of pink in my stash. 2 coats, no top coat.

Ulta3 - Violet Rumble

Violet rumble. It makes me hungry for violet crumble. This applied nicely like most Ulta3 polishes in 2 coats, no top coat.

Rimmel - Misty Jade

Keeping on with my green theme (which ended just a few minutes ago when I painted my nails purple) is Rimmel's Misty Jade. This colour took about 3 coats for complete opacity and a smooth finish, and it is a stunner! There was no direct sunlight for today's photos, so I think my camera may have captured this colour a little bluer than it really is.

OPI - Mermaid's Tears

Hmm, it seems I'm in a green mood lately. I've been craving this polish since it was first released, but only got a chance to buy it last month. It's so pretty that it's worth the exhorbent price of AU$19.95. This was a one coater, but I did 2 because it's what i'm used to. No top coat and all photos taken in direct sunlight.

Sportsgirl - Olive

Eh. I bought this because it's one of those 'ugly' polishes that have been so popular amongst the nail bloggers recently. I don't like it, it isn't my kind of green. But it did apply really nicely in 2 coats and it dried pretty quickly, so if you love the colour, it's worth it :)

Essie - Absolutely Shore

I decided to pull out this colour for two reasons: 1) because the weather was warm and sunny today, and 2) this colour has been popping up on nail blogs a lot this week, so I felt it necessary to be a sheep ;) This colour is one of my favourites, however I'm unsure whether this actually suits me. Not that I really care about that, I'll be wearing this bottle out anyway! 2 coats, no top coat.

Sportgirl - Northern Lights

This shade isn't sold in my local Sportsgirl, so I'm not sure how available it is nationally. I picked mine up from Melbourne airport on sale for AU$4.95. Northern Lights is a very sheer purple jelly with large pink glitters and small blue and purple glitters. I applied 3 coats and 1 coat of a top coat.

OPI - OPI Red

Every once in a while, it's nice to go back to basics. Slightly pinked-out reds are my favourite type of red to wear, and I keep forgetting how much I love it! This applied really nicely - smooth and opaque in 2 coats. No top coat.

Face of Australia - Party at the Gap

The last of the Barbados collection, this gunmetal grey with silver glitter applied opaquely in 2 coats. It may look a little bit rough in the pictures, but I think that was purely user error - I painted my nails outside and it was freezing! so I rushed it.

Face of Australia - You Blue Me Away

I think we all know how I feel about blues by now! I picked this up purely so I could have the entire collection (plus it was only like AU$3). This had probably the thickest of formulas in the whole collection, so this was a one coater. It actually dried pretty quickly which was nice :)

Face of Australia - Bright Lights, Pink City

A gold glittered pink. Again this is a sheer jelly, but I really like how much gold comes through. This is 2 coats without a top coat.

Face of Australia - Another Daiquiri Please

It is very rare to enjoy every polish from a larger collection, and I'm starting to get into the "meh" polishes in the Barbados range. I mean, I don't dislike this colour, but it won't be one I reach for frequently. A reddened-pink jellied sheer polish with pink and silver shimmers (if that makes sense!), I applied 2 coats in the pictures below.

Dior - Forget-Me-Not

I bought this so long ago, but the colour was so uninspiring that I kept passing over it for bright or sparkly colours. So I pulled it out today, and whilst the shade isn't my very favourite of my purple collection, I'd forgotten how great this smells! This is one coat, it dried extremely quickly, and the scent lasted throughout the day.  I wish all my nail polishes smelt this good :)

Face of Australia - Let's Go Scuba Diving!

Hey guys, sorry for the seemingly lack of posts for the last 2 days, I was accidentally hitting save rather than publish! Anyway, today I'm sporting another FoA Barbados shade. I'm not the biggest fan of this shade - is it aqua or teal or turquoise? I can never remember - but this was bright and cheery nonetheless. I also forgot to clean up which is something that is becoming habit, so if it really bothers you, I'm sorry!

Chi Chi - Capital H.I.M.

I was so ready to get some easter nail art happening, but when I picked up this shade yesterday, I just couldn't wait to wear it. It is beau-ti-ful. The sparkles are actually visible without having to have your hand 1cm from your face, and the purple is vibrant without being neon or flat (though the sparkle isn't really catching on camera). It painted on evenly and smoothly in 2 coats and a top coat.

so you can actually see the sparkle. click on the images if you want to see it better.

All direct sunlight.
